Maison et Objet 2018 Highlights

Picture by Boca Do Lobo Exclusive Design

Amber and I just got back from a whirlwind three days at Maison et Objet in Paris.

It was Yohan May’s first time attending one of the most important events for European interior design and we absolutely loved it!

It was interesting to see that green and palm trees are firmly still ‘in’ with so much glorious lighting, fabrics and wallpaper using the iconic design.

There were just so many incredible stands of insanely gorgeous and fun interiors, here are some of our highlights…

JNL Collection

We love JNL Collection’s upholstered walls which to our excitement is making a comeback!

Eichholtz

Bold and fun compositions at the Dutch company’s huge stand. We especially loved the use of blue and gold together which is hardly unsurprising when viewing our portfolio.

We Love Portuguese Design

We are consistently drawn to Portuguese designers. Both the quality of craftmanship and the bold-yet-sophisticated approach which use golden metallics and fierce contrasts of colour, pattern and texture.

I.
Brabbu

A shift from cool colours, Brabbu introduced warm tones like burnt orange, flourishing pinks and deep earthy reds. We love velvets - its texture enhances the colour making it richer and more vibrant.

II.
Essential Home

Essential Home was our pick for their interpretation of retro shapes, seen here is their outstanding velvet barstools.

III.
Munna | Ginger & Jagger

That desk is what dreams are made of! Fun pops of green and orange on a neutral palette was alluring and elegant. Congratulations to Munna Design for 10 years since of their iconic fringed chair – a super-sized version on it can be seen above with us perched on top!

We had a magical time in Paris, it really is the most charming city with all its beauty, elegance and sophistication. Very happy to be home in glorious London for the rest of London Design Festival.

Next stop Decorex!
